What it is

A mini-game event: cast your line, avoid obstacles as it descends, and catch fish for points. Deeper casts reach rarer, higher-point fish. Points convert into gear upgrades (line, hook, bait) and a real-time leaderboard determines your final rank rewards.

How it works

  • Drag to cast your line, then avoid obstacles while it descends
  • The deeper you reach, the rarer the fish and the more points you earn
  • You get a limited number of attempts that regenerate over time — commonly cited as 1 extra bait every 3 hours, up to a cap (around 10)
  • After each attempt, collect fish/points/bonus drops from the rewards screen
  • Points upgrade your Line (reach further depth), Hook (catch capacity), and Bait (target higher-value fish)
  • Unlocking the Sunken Treasure Hunt special mode gives access to rare items unavailable anywhere else in the game

Strategy

  1. Upgrade Line first — without it you're stuck catching only basic fish near the surface
  2. Balance Hook capacity second — maximizes catch per cast once you can reach depth
  3. Use the right bait to target high-value fish specifically rather than casting blind
  4. Don't burn all your attempts immediately — early on, use free attempts to build points/upgrades, then pace remaining attempts so you're not sitting on a full bait cap while it's capped (wasted regeneration)
  5. Save special boost items (Lantern, Ocean Scanner, Reel Stabilizer) for a real leaderboard push rather than using them casually

Prep checklist (between tournaments)

  • Save event points between tournaments so you can start strong with upgrades next time
  • Hold onto temporary boost items until you're ready to push for leaderboard rank
  • Keep upgrade resources ready so you can immediately push Line/Hook the moment the event reopens

Common mistakes

  • Upgrading Hook before Line (you can't reach the valuable depth yet, so extra capacity is wasted)
  • Burning all attempts the moment the event opens instead of pacing around the 3-hour regen
  • Using boost items casually instead of saving them for an actual leaderboard push

Teaching point for new members

Fishing Tournament is low-pressure and solo — cast your line, dodge obstacles, and go for depth (deeper = rarer fish = more points). Upgrade your Line before your Hook. Attempts regenerate every 3 hours, so don't blow them all in one sitting — spread them out and save your boost items for when you're actually trying to climb the leaderboard.
